I have a complex medical history and I have had ENT problems for decades. I had seen several ENT Consultants and had had 3 Previous ENT operations (grommet, grommet removal, mastoidectomy) prior to seeing Mr Kelly. I had had repeated infections, pain all over my head, skull and in my ear and behind my eye and my hearing deteriorated. Mr Kelly listened to me and he ordered appropriate MRI and CT scans to assist in diagnosis. I then had my operation with Mr Kelly a combined tympanoplasty and my condition has much improved. Mr Kelly was the only ENT Surgeon who had listened to me in a kind, caring, empathetic and jovial manner and he was always prepared to go that extra mile to answer my questions and deliver great care. Mr Kelly listened to my long complex medical history and he ensured that he liaised with other Consultants in order to deliver my care safely and ensure a safe general anaesthetic. My diagnosis is complex and may be a combination of otosclerosis, Gradenigos syndrome and hemicrania continua complicated by an impaired immune system, angioedema and urticaria but the great thing is I haven't had any further infections or discharge from my ear! I thoroughly recommend Mr Kelly to other patients as the ENT Surgeon they should seek out to achieve great care!

I would highly recommend Mr Kelly to any patient with an ear, nose or throat problem. My 6 year old son had injured his nose; there was concern it was broken and that it might require fixing! Mr Kelly had an excellent approach with him, myself and my wife. We were all at ease very quickly. My son did not feel shy or timid in the environment he was in and was happily conversing with Mr Kelly. My son did not have any pain when being examined. Reassurance was all that we needed, however he stated we could contact his secretary if we wanted to see him for a further review (this was an offer we did not have to take up). I am extremely pleased with the care and attention given; and I believe you will receive the care you deserve when seeing Mr Kelly.

Response from Mr Gerard Kelly

Thank you for the compliment! One of the most important things (I think) in dealing with children who are patients, is to speak to the patient! First speak to the child (and the adults second), the child is the important person in the room. Even if they are very young, asking them what the problems is let's them know that their voice is heard and that they are here to be heard and helped and, quite often, even when very young, they sum up their symptoms and fears better than anyone! Mr Kelly is kind, considerate and also very amusing. He made me feel at ease straight away but most importantly he really listened to what I had to say and offered me good constructive advice. He has also treated two of my young grand daughters and he was brilliant with them.

Dr Kelly was recommended by a friend who had seen him for treatment of his vertigo. On my visit he was very receptive to my problem and gave sound advice with a feeling that nothing was too much trouble. He explained that my condition could be probable vertiginous migraines and explained that various medications work for different people. He devised a personal care plan with step by step treatment, and reassurance that he could be in contact, via email, if I should require it. I did contact him on a couple of occasions and he returned my questions promptly. I feel that he cares about you as an individual and not just as a statistic. Fully recommend him.

Was absolutely delighted by the car I received from Mr Kelly. Following weeks of unsuccessful GP treatment his prompt intervention restored my hearing instantly. His follow up treatment ensured no reoccurrence. Polite, processional and patient, he explained what he was doing and was necessary clearly and with compassion. Highly recommended!
